Our Team

Brittany Britt, LCSW, SEP

Welcome!

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Arizona, Illinois, and Wisconsin, holding both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in social work from Arizona State University. Over the last decade my career spans diverse settings, including community mental health, hospitals, and work with domestic violence survivors and individuals navigating serious mental illness.

I specialize in working with adults seeking trauma resolution, particularly those with family of origin or childhood trauma. My ideal client is ready to explore the roots of their challenges and patterns, uncovering how early experiences have shaped their current lives. I understand how deeply these formative experiences can impact both the mind and body, and I am here to guide you through the healing process with compassion and expertise.

During my time at The Meadows, a renowned treatment center, I had the privilege of training with esteemed professionals in the field, including Dr. Peter Levine, Tian Dayton, Claudia Black, Dr. Kevin McCauley, and Dr. Lawrence Heller. At The Meadows, I worked extensively with the Meadows Model, which focuses on educating clients about core issues such as self-esteem, boundaries, and the recognition of life patterns. This approach also integrates parts work to help clients resolve unhealthy cycles and create lasting change. My experience at The Meadows shaped my understanding of how to guide individuals through deep personal transformation.

I am a certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP), a trauma-focused approach developed by Dr. Peter Levine. This method emphasizes the connection between the body and mind, helping individuals process and release trauma stored in the body.

Additionally, I am trained in Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR) (all three levels), a newer and highly effective modality for individuals suffering from PTSD. My training also includes Structural Dissociation Theory with Sarah Jenkins, offering valuable insights for working with trauma and dissociation. I incorporate Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) into my practice, equipping me to guide clients through their healing journeys.

My work is rooted in creating a safe, supportive, and collaborative space where clients can explore, heal, and grow. Together, we will uncover the roots of your challenges, reconnect with your body, and move toward a healthier, more fulfilling life.

Tl;dr

I collaborate with adult clients to resolve symptoms of trauma; we have options in how to do this.

Education

In 2011, I earned a bachelor's in psychology with a minor in disaster studies from the State University of New York at New Paltz. In 2014 I earned a master's and an education specialist degree in Professional Counseling from Seton Hall University in New Jersey.  I am a licensed professional counselor in Arizona and Oregon, offering virtual or in person in Arizona.

Client Demographic and Symptoms

My focus is with young adults to middle aged adults who are interested in reducing symptoms of trauma. These symptoms can be experienced as hypervigilance (i.e. being more aware of surroundings than others, scanning for danger), conflict within relationships, anxiety or panic, not knowing how to make decisions, feeling overwhelmed, low view of self, among other symptoms.

Additional Trainings and Certifications

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). EMDR Certified Therapist™ and EMDR Consultant™ through EMDRIA.
